Hints & Cheats
These hints and cheats have been gathered from the old sold-out.co.uk and mastertronic.com websites via the Wayback Machine. I haven't personally tested them all, but since they appeared on the official sites back in the day, they should be pretty reliable.
International Manager Start
Enter the name: Terry Venables or Arrigo Sacchi and you start as an international manager.
Buying players for free
First make a bid on a player you want. Make a high bid. The bid will be immediately accepted. Then choose adjust offer. Adjust offer to "free" and choose "Cancel". Do not choose makeoffer!!! Then you will get the player for free.
Keeping players who have a Big Club Release Clause in their contract
List them for loan when they're wanted. When they want to loan them, just refuse the offer.
